Day 2Travel to Ataúro Island
Travel to Ataúro, the island across the strait north of Dili, by ferry, charter boat, or small aircraft depending on the current schedule. Watch for dolphins during the crossing, settle into your eco-lodge, and spend the afternoon snorkelling right off the beach.

Day 3Diving & Village Life
Full day at Ataúro. Morning dive at one of the island's world-class sites. Expect extraordinary reef fish diversity. Afternoon village walk to meet local families and learn about traditional fishing and weaving.

Day 4Back to Dili
A last swim and snorkel off the beach, then the boat back to Dili. The public ferries leave Ataúro in the afternoon and reach Dili late in the day; a chartered fast boat takes about an hour. Spending the last night in Dili means the crossing can never cost you your flight. Finish with dinner on the waterfront.

Day 5Cristo Rei & Departure
With an afternoon flight, there is time for the coastal walk to Cristo Rei, the 27m statue of Christ on the headland east of Dili, while the morning is still cool, or for the Resistance Museum. Pick up tais textiles and Timor coffee on the way to the airport.
