Recognised by Conservation International for the highest diversity of reef fish and coral species anywhere on Earth, Atauro is the jewel of the Coral Triangle. Over 10,000 residents live across five villages, producing carved wooden figurines, Boneka dolls, and woven reed crafts. Whale and dolphin sightings are possible year-round, with peak viewing during migration season.
