Dili

Cristo Rei

One of Timor-Leste's most iconic landmarks, standing 27 metres high atop a hill overlooking the Bay of Dili. Visitors reach the statue by climbing over 500 scenic steps lined with the Stations of the Cross, with spectacular views of turquoise waters and rugged cliffs along the way. The nearby beaches are ideal for swimming and picnicking after the climb.

Government Palace (Palácio do Governo)

Overlooking the waterfront along Dili's main boulevard, this grand colonial-era building serves as the official seat of government. Its impressive white façade, arched colonnades, and symmetrical design reflect early 20th-century Portuguese architectural influence, while the surrounding gardens and palm-lined avenues add to its stately charm.
