Timor-Leste is part of the Wallacea biodiversity hotspot, with over 260 bird species recorded, including at least 26 Timor endemics found nowhere else on Earth. The Timor green-pigeon, Timor imperial-pigeon, and iris lorikeet are among the highlights. From montane cloud forest on Ramelau to coastal mangroves and the dry savannahs of the south coast, every habitat holds birding surprises.
