3. Our Travel Assistant
This website offers an AI travel assistant and trip planner. So that we can see which questions it answers badly and improve both its replies and the information on this site, we keep a record of the questions asked and the answers given.
These records are not linked to your identity. We do not store your IP address, your browser details, or any account information alongside them. Conversations are grouped only by a random reference created in your browser.
Please do not type sensitive personal information — passport or identity-document numbers, payment-card details, or health information — into the assistant. It is a travel-information tool and does not need any of it. Your messages are also sent to our AI provider to generate a reply.

5. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous usage data. Analytics cookies are not set until you accept them: when you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or decline analytics, and you can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. You can also opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Service Providers
The Ministry of Tourism and Environment is the data controller for this website. Technical operation is provided under contract by OniT Enterprises, Lda (Timor-Leste), which develops and hosts the platform on its behalf. We use a small number of service providers to run the site: hosting infrastructure provided by Hetzner Online GmbH (servers located in the European Union), database and file storage provided by Supabase (hosted in the Asia-Pacific region, Singapore), transactional and newsletter email delivery provided by Resend, content delivery and security provided by Cloudflare, analytics provided by Google (Google Analytics 4, described above), and the AI model behind our travel assistant provided by Anthropic. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their services.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share anonymised, aggregated data with government departments for tourism planning purposes. Personal information may be disclosed if required by law or to protect the rights of the Ministry.
7. Data Retention
Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months. Newsletter subscriptions remain active until you unsubscribe. Travel-assistant conversation records are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics default retention settings.

You have the right to:
