Two upcoming world-class tourism events — Tasifest Music Festival and the Dili International Marathon — along with new Aero Dili flights to Kuala Lumpur and Darwin, are set to further enhance Timor-Leste's reputation as a top destination in 2026.
Two upcoming world-class tourism events and additional flights to Malaysia and Australia, are expected to further enhance Timor-Leste's reputation as one of the top countries in the world to visit in 2026.
Tasifest is one of the most anticipated cultural events of the year in Timor-Leste and will take place in Tasitolu, Dili on May 29-30, 2026. Headliners include world-renowned Indonesian singer Iwan Fals, musical duo Calema from Sao Tome and Principe, Angolan singer Rui Orlando, and Guy Sebastian.
President Jose Ramos-Horta recently announced August 8, 2026, as the official date for this year's Dili International Marathon under the theme Love Our Forests and Wildlife.
Aero Dili will inaugurate twice-weekly flights from Dili to Kuala Lumpur on March 28, 2026, followed by Darwin on May 24.
