Timor-Leste ushered in a new era for its tourism sector through its historic first full participation at the ASEAN Tourism Forum in Cebu, Philippines, conducting media briefings and forging business partnerships.
Timor-Leste ushered in a new era for its tourism sector through its historic participation at the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2026, held in Cebu, Philippines, from January 26-30, 2026. This marked the first time ASEAN's newest member participated fully in ATF.
The Forum included meetings of ASEAN National Tourism Organisations, tourism ministers, a conference, and a trade show. Timor-Leste had a strong presence at the trade show, with the country's booth welcoming tourism buyers from dozens of countries.
Timor-Leste also conducted a media briefing with more than 50 international media representatives.
